ROSE PARK, Utah - A candlelight vigil was held Thursday night to honor a man who was shot and killed during an altercation over the weekend.
Officials say 33-year-old Tony Vasquez was allegedly shot and killed by his childhood friend 36-year-old Michael Vigil.
Family and friends remembered Vasquez by holding candles covered with a photo of Tony.
"We just want to celebrate him. He's loved by everyone and it means a lot to have everybody come out and just help us celebrate his life," said Lety Guillen, Vasquez' cousin.
Vasquez' family says he was recently engaged and the couple had moved into a new home just weeks ago.
Vasquez would have celebrated his 34th birthday on Saturday.
